Don’t you hate it when you get lyrics stuck in your head?  It’s incredibly annoying when you don’t know the words and find yourself singing the same words over and over and over again.  My daughter Claire (age 7) had a song suck in her head and was humming the tune through most of the afternoon.  This of course rubbed off on me so I ended up with the song stuck in my head.  Now I know what your thinking… a seven year old’s song… must be something from a cartoon or something from Hi5 or The Wiggles.  It was in fact the 1975 hit song by Janis Ian… At Seventeen.  (If you don’t know the song you should look it up it’s a  brutally honest song about feeling alienated while growing up.) I always find that the best cure for lyrics stuck in your head is to listen to the song from start to finish… uninterrupted.  So off we went to listen to the song together.  AAAHHHH… we couldn’t find it!
