I’m a single mum paying private rent and the Housing Commission agency said that even on the sole parent pension you still can’t get into a housing commission house any sooner than 7 - 9 years. I mean come on, imagine your abusive husband left you, in debt, no job, on the pension that doesn’t cover much all with a baby to raise and the government said that even with domestic violence order and no job they won’t do anything to help!
