Mighty mouse war of ‘08

mouse
Let me update you on our mouse problem.  Since trapping began two weeks ago we have caught 37 mice and I expect to catch a few more tonight.  My daughter saw one creep past her door down the hallway and my husband saw one run from the laundry to the lounge room.  My nephew even saw one while he was playing with my girls.  They seem to be everywhere but nowhere!  You spot them out of the corner of your eye but they are so fast that by the time you turn your head they are gone.  I have my mother sleeping over tomorrow and she is petrified of mice,  I sure hope they leave her alone.  The more I think about this house the more I think it was a mistake moving here.  No garage, redback spiders everywhere, our cat was hit and killed by a car, our 11 year old Chihuahua’s not allowed inside and we have mice taking over the house. I’m not going to let the mice win… I vow to win this war… this MIGHTY mouse war of ‘08 even if it’s the last thing I do!

  1. Oh! I think mice are part and parcel of our suburb - I have never, ever had a mice issue until I moved to this suburb! I am not humane - I got the poisonous mousetrap guy in!

  2. hey I have an idea, perhaps next time you trap one of the slippery little rodents you could apply a small amount of colour - perhaps a non toxic type spray paint to the back of said rodent. this way when you put him outside the nice warm house with a plentiful kitchen full of food and so many cosy places to play hide and seek with the humans, you will be sure they aren’t just turning right instead of left and heading back in under the door they just got booted from? just a thought! are you sure they aren’t all the same couple of mice playing some serious head games with you?

  3. Yes i thought of that. They are too quick and two little to spray without getting it in their eyes and I don’t want to hurt them. When our cat was alive we NEVER saw a mouse or evidence of mice but now they have taken over. However the evidence (mouse crap) of mice in the house is reducing so I am having some impact on the population. Persistence is the key… I hope.

  4. hmmmm I know Luke won’t like it but perhaps time to get another cat?

  5. [...] I saw this picture I thought… the ones I killed WERE BIGGER! Add this to the mice plague I have and the cockroaches I have in my house and you see my fight with pests.  Why wouldn’t [...]
