More mice… some a little flat!

To add to my “There’s a mouse in the house” post I’d like to tell you what I found under my couch. I have lived in a couple of placed which seemed to have mouse problems so I know that couches make great hiding places for them. So with my husband working from home I took the opportunity to use his muscles to help flip the couches and throughly examine them. Expecting to find mouse dropping we moved the couch only to be greeted by a dead and VERY flat mouse. The poor little fellow was wafer thin, I felt sorry for the little guy… or gal as the case may have been. Our couch is one of those pull out beds with the steel frames and trampoline style bedding. The kids often jump on it and this poor little mouse must have been under the couch when the kids decided to play home acrobatics. The following day I was watching TV when I noticed a little mouse come out from under the TV stand looking for food under my coffee table. I thought back to that wafer thin mouse I found under the couch and wondered if it was this little guys uncle or aunt, mother or father, sister or brother, grandma or grandpa? Feeling sorry for it’s potential loss I stood up (of course the mouse hurried back under the TV) and placed a piece of popcorn under the TV stand for it. In a few days I’ll catch it in my humane mouse trap and release it outside with all of it’s other surviving family members I have removed. For now though while it is under my roof, he or she is entitled to a good meal and warm bed.
