Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles… vintage?
My nephew asked to watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the other day so while I was looking for the DVD I started singing the theme. I couldn’t help it, I remember watching the Turtles when I was a kid and the theme song came flooding back to me as I was singing. I was in the zone… seconds away from breaking into an air guitar solo when I noticed my nephew looking at me. His expression was a mix of confusion and awe, I must have been quite a sight. He then told me that those were not the words, smart arse three year old! I insisted that they were the words and then I broke out into song again. He then looked at me and had a light bulb moment…ding.. “that’s like You Tube turtles” he said to me. Oh my goodness, he’s right. I’m singing the 80’s theme music, also known as vintage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on You Tube. The new T.M.N.T theme song is different and there is even a Fast Forward series with yet another theme song. It has finally happened… I’m of a vintage era.
