Vegemite or Promite?
The age old battle…Vegemite or Promite? In our house we prefer Promite but always keep a little jar of Vegemite just in case we feel like it. This morning my nephew asked for Vegemite on his crumpet toast, no worries, happy to oblige. After serving him his toast and tidying up the kitchen I noticed that the Vegemite was 15 months past it’s due date! OOOPPPPS… sorry bubba. His toast and butter were still good so two out of three items is pretty good… the odds are with him in my opinion. So now what to do with the expired Vegemite? I probably should toss it out but then again my nephew is still walking and talking so it can’t be that bad. It’s only concentrated yeast extract, that stuff should last for years. May I suggest that if you are ever at my house and are given the option of Vegemite or Promite, choose Promite!
