Natalie Bassingthwaighte Houghton?
My two children LOVE “So you think you can dance?” They watch it every week even though it is past their bed time. My five year old (Natalie) got all excited when she heard the announcement “now your host Natalie Bassingthwaighte” She looked at me and said “that’s my name, Natalie Bassingthwaighte Houghton.” I responded with “No honey just Natalie Houghton”. She then went on to ensure me that she knew her name and her name was most certainly Natalie BASSINGTHWAIGHTE Houghton! There’s no point arguing with a five year old so I let it pass. Next week she may inform me that she is a magical unicorn and will only answer to the name Moondrop…such is the imagination of a five year old. I was impressed however with her pronunciation. Bassingthwaighte is quite a mouthful but she found it very easy, perhaps the fact that she used to say “yeth” instead of “yes” helps.
