Multiple births…..my hat’s off to you!

births

I have just read a news article about the triplets born to Allison and Tom Penn in New York.  They were implanted with one embryo but that split then one of them split again resulting in identical triples, all boys. (So rare it only happens in one in every 200 million births.)  After trying for four years they now have their hands full - literately! I don’t know what it’s like to be unable to have children…I got knocked up first month we tried for each child.  The disappointment month after month must really weigh a person down with sorrow.  So when I hear a story like this I’m happy for them.  They thought they would only have one child but God blessed them with three!  I don’t envy the task they have ahead of them but I sure hope they have a good support network around them. One lot of nappies/feeding/burping/etc at a time was enough for me, two I would consider challenging.  Three however just sounds insanely difficult so for all you mums out there who have had multiple births - my hat’s off to you!

  1. I like watching a show on Foxtel called Jon and Kate Plus 8. They couldn’t get pregnant either. They initially had twins then decided they wanted one more but ended up having 6 at once - hence the 8. OMG! I cannot imagine having 6 at once! Scary! It follows their lives.
