Bottle or Breast…which is best?

This debate has been around for a long time. Every now and then there will be an article in the paper or a T.V. segment about the pros and cons of bottle and breast feeding. I just want to say that what is best for one mother is not necessarily best for another. My OPINION is that breast milk is natural and therefore a preferred feeding option. However with my first child I simply didn’t have enough milk. I don’t know why this was the case but I had to use bottles as well as the small amount of breast milk I was expressing. The benefit to bottles was that my husband could take a shift feeding and I could sleep. However the bottles did mean extra dishes with sterilizing needing to be done and formula to buy. With my second child I had plenty of milk and got to experience the joy of breast feeding. It’s convenient, always at the right temperature, cheap and very comforting for both mother and child. Sure my husband couldn’t take a feeding session for me but he could do nappies! There are always plenty of nappies to be taken care of, or baths to give or rocking to be done. So I have been both a bottle feeder and a breast feeder and in MY OPINION breastfeeding is by far the best……….it truly is a special experience that bonds mother and baby.
