My baby’s all grown up

Dibs

Today is my youngest child’s birthday, the big five!  I would go on and on about hours of labor pains, and a blood transfusion five years ago but I don’t want to sound too much like my mother.  So I’ll simply say “where has the time gone?”  People told me to cherish these early years with my children and that it all goes by so fast.  Sure,  I thought to myself, easy to say but with a baby in your arms 24 hours seems like a year when you are sleep deprived.  Five years seems like an eternity!  However, sure enough, on this side of sleep deprivation five years seems to have passed far too quickly for my liking.   So with the prospect of having no children in the house between 9am-3pm, what will I do?  CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!  Then I remember my nephew, almost three and as cute as a button.  I look after him three days a week so I’ll be claiming “full time mum” status for the next two years.  I know, I know, 3 days a week isn’t technically full time but believe me  – three days with him FEELS like full time!
